Zimbabwe's Shona sculpture is admired. The Shona occupy southern Africa. Smaller communities of Shona reside in South Africa, Zambia, and Mozambique. Shona artists' stone sculptures are termed "Shona" sculptures. International collectors bought Shona statues from Zimbabwe's most gifted carvers. Grief, elation, laughter, worry, and spiritual inquiry are expressed via stone carvings. Zimbabwe has hard black springstone, colorful serpentine and soapstone, solid grey limestone, and semi-precious Verdite and Lepidolite.
